Altitude Platinum Rewards Terms and Conditions

One step in the process of activating your membership in the Altitude website is to key in your date of birth. You will be asked to key this date in each time you seek to review your "Rewards Account", to redeem or transfer Altitude points. If the dates do not match, then your request will be denied. We are entitled to act on instructions received from you or someone purporting to be you if the dates match.

Things you should know:

  • Delivery Information
    Delivery to addresses off the mainland of Australia, for example Norfolk Island and regional areas may be charged at actual cost. These costs may exceed the standard delivery charges outlined in the catalogue or at the time of redemption. You will be contacted before despatch of your redemption should such excess delivery charges apply to your redemption.
  • Information about a 3rd Party's Products or Services
    Information about a third party's products or services is provided for convenience only and does not represent an endorsement by Westpac of the products or services.
  • Earning of Bonus Altitude points
    Bonus Altitude points are earned on purchases made at participating Bonus Partner outlets only and where the Bonus Partner pays us for bonus points. The earning and redemption of Altitude points (including available rewards and expiry of points) is subject to the Altitude Rewards Terms and Conditions.
  • Earning and Redeeming Altitude points
    The earning and redemption of Altitude points (including available rewards and expiry of points) is subject to the Altitude Rewards Terms and Conditions.
  • Points Plus Payment
    Points Plus Payment requires a minimum of 3,000 Altitude points and the payment amount must be a minimum of $5.00 and cannot be used to redeem the Altitude Credit Card Annual fee rebate or other Bank products, Holden Rebate Vouchers or Frequent Flyer points.
  • Altitude Travel
    Altitude Travel gives you access to every major domestic and international airline operation within and from Australia and their connecting partner airlines. As with booking through a travel agent, in certain circumstances seats may not be available on the airline of flight of your choice at the time you wish to travel. Terms and conditions apply.
  • Altitude Rewards Terms and Conditions
    The earning and redemption of Altitude points (including available rewards and expiry of points) is subject to the Altitude Rewards Terms and Conditions.
  • Minimum points required to redeem rewards
    You must have earned a minimum of 3,000 points before you can redeem for any rewards.
  • Conversion of Altitude points to Frequent Flyer points
    You must be a member of the relevant frequent flyer program to redeem Altitude points for frequent flyer points. Award points are subject to capacity controls, and availability is limited. The terms and conditions of the relevant frequent flyer programs apply.
  • Additional Altitude Cards
    An additional card can be issued on the primary cardholder's credit card account to any nominated person over the age of 16 years. All Altitude points remain the benefit of the primary cardholder.
  • Expiry of Altitude Points
    Points do not expire as long as long as you remain an Altitude cardholder.
  • Altitude Gold & Platinum Complimentary Overseas Travel Insurance
    Complimentary Overseas travel insurance is only available for trips of up to 3 months (6 months for Platinum card holders). The cover only extends to the primary and secondary card holder, and their spouse and dependant children travelling with either the primary or secondary cardholder. This insurance product is issued by Zurich Australian Insurance Limited ABN 13 000 296 640, which is liable for the risks incurred under the terms of the policy. Terms and conditions apply.
  • Complimentary Insurances
    Complimentary insurances are issued by Zurich Australian Insurance Limited ABN 13 000 296 640 to Westpac Banking Corporation under separate Master Policies. Zurich Australian Insurance Limited is liable for separate risks insured under the terms of each policy. Westpac extends the benefits of the insurance to its cardholders as complimentary benefits. The cardholders are under no obligation to accept the insurance cover and cover is subject to conditions, limits and exclusions on cover, which are explained in the policy wording. No Westpac Group company has any liability in connection with the insurance policies. Policy wordings may be obtained by calling 1300 367 228 or downloading the Gold Card Insurance Conditions of Use from www.westpac.com.au
  • Purchase Security Insurance
    Purchase security insurance provides cover for 3 months against loss, theft or accidental damage over certain new personal goods purchased using the card until the cardholder, their spouse or dependent children take possession of the good.
  • Extended Warranty
    The extended warranty extends the manufacturer's expressed Australian warranty on new personal goods purchased using the card if that warranty is for a period between 6 months and 4 years and the good has a manufacturer's unique identification serial number on it. Not available on items purchased for more than $10,000 and other exclusions apply.
  • No Liability for Accuracy of Information
    While such material is published with permission, Westpac Banking Corporation accepts no responsibility for its accuracy or completeness.
  • Altitude points excludes cash advances and other circumstances
    Altitude points not earned on cash advances (see Altitude Rewards Terms and Conditions and Altitude Platinum Rewards Terms and Conditions for what we regard as cash advances). You do not earn Altitude points if your card account is in arrears for 2 consecutive statement cycles. You are not entitled to points in other circumstances – see the Altitude Rewards Terms and Conditions and the Altitude Platinum Rewards Terms and Conditions.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability
You agree that participation in the Altitude website is at your sole risk.

Altitude website operates but we exclude all other conditions and warranties implied by custom, law, statute or otherwise.

In addition, although we intend to take reasonable steps to prevent the introduction of viruses or other destructive materials to the Altitude website, we do not warrant, guarantee or make any representations that the Altitude website is free of destructive materials.

We shall not be liable or responsible for any guarantees, warranties and representations offered by Altitude points providers, advertisers, partners, manufacturers or merchandise or supplier of services.

We are not responsible for failing to notify you where such failure is caused by an error in your email program, an inaccurate email address, or your failure to check your email or the Altitude website. We are not responsible for any error, omission, interruption, deletion or delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of the Altitude website or your Altitude points Record or any messages sent by you to us or received by you from us.

We are not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, traffic congestion on the Internet, computer systems, servers or providers, computer equipment and software or failure of any email to be received by you or us as a result of such problems.

You acknowledge and agree that we neither endorse the contents of messages, third party advertisements or Internet sites operated by third parties which are accessed by hyperlinks, referral buttons or other pointers, nor assume responsibility or liability for the content and accuracy of material contained therein, or any infringement of third party intellectual property rights arising therefrom, or any fraud or other crime facilitated thereby.
